I'm at Nice airport and about to head to St Cezaire for a couple days - a very pretty little town about 40 minutes away. Punch in St Cezaire as a keyword into Flickr and you'll see what I mean. However, Sunday I'm heading to Niger on a filming assignment for UNICEF TV. Right now I'm at a (rather slow) wifi hotspot watching my ftp programme upload a test clip for compression rates. But I'd rather faff about with crunching numbers now than freak out during the real thing.
One of the areas I'll be visiting is Maradi in southern Niger. I've read a number of reports about the devastating 2005 famine and it will be interesting to see what has happened since then.
So in the meantime I'll try to update the blog where possible and also twitter and utterz. I've sorted out the email/GPRS problems on my phone so I may be able to upload a few photos or longer messages.
If the tech boffins at Nokia are tuning in - I'm up for testing a N96. And to the good folk at Qik - I'm ready so dial me in.
